"I was disappointed that parking and internet access fees were in addition to the room rates. Makes one wonder when we'll start seeing fees for things like "Clean linen service", etc. I found it particularly annoying considering that we were asked to prepay for our stay. You've heard the saying "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice . . ." I don't think this will happen to me again.
Otherwise, we were quite happy with our stay and the food was terrific."

The AAA four-diamond Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa is a European-style hotel, approximately 20 minutes from Chronicle Pavilion (with big-name concert acts). To promote a reputation of luxury, the hotel has three garden courtyards, a private library, five meeting and banquet rooms, outdoor pool, full-service spa, sauna, and fitness center. The Duck Club Restaurant has earned all five diamonds and stars it has been awarded. With French Provincial decor, the split level dining room has bay-window alcoves overlooking a fountain courtyard, as well as a cozy bar area with fireplace. The hotel offers complimentary Mercedes Benz transportation within a 5-minute radius of the hotel; this would include Broadway Plaza (with over 100 shops), a variety of fine restaurants and theaters, and the Regional Center for the Arts. Marine World Africa USA is located in Vallejo, just 30 minutes northwest of the hotel. Also 30 minutes away is the Network Associates Coliseum, home of Oakland Athletics and Golden State Warriors. Most downtown San Francisco attractions, including Pac Bell Park and Fisherman's Wharf, are between 30 and 40 minutes away. The guestrooms offer views of the courtyards and surrounding hillsides and valley. Each features custom Cherrywood furnishings, granite vanity countertops, stocked minibars, refrigerators, cable television with On Command movies, nightly turndown, European comforters and pillow shams, hairdryers, make-up mirrors, plush terry robes, clock radios, and three telephones with voicemail and dataport.
